The deck remodeling project is officially complete!  Actually it was officially complete about a week ago when our evil contractors cleaned up their crap and left for good.  But on Friday we worked in the gazebo and then over the weekend we had an impromptu party (hi [info]t_rex and Beth & other people who I don't know if they have LJ accounts) and grilled on the deck.  So it is officially open for party business.

Old "deck" back when we bought the house was really just a narrow walkway along the back of the house:



But now it is a happy party deck with gazebo!


Yay!

Now we only have to finish remodeling my bathroom...

I'm in the midst of a bathroom renovation as well. I'm sick to death of tile, counters, fixtures, blah blah blah. I'd get a bidet, but there's not enough room.

OMG just choosing tile nearly killed me. Way too many choices. I mean each step you have to choose from a million things. Happily I picked my tile, randomly picked some way to lay it out, picked the wall-paint, got my sink & toilet (and bb-1000 bidet toilet seat which is AWESOME), all I got left to pick are the fixtures (soap dishes, towel rods or pegs, corner shelves(?) etc), toilet paper holder, shower curtain rod & curtain, and a cabinet. That's it! OMG! So close to done!

That's a great looking deck. I'm somewhat weird in that I judge a house more on it's back than it's front curb appeal, and big decks are always winners for me, the gazebo is just a huge added bonus.

Please note the "clean" bird feeders. ;-)

BTW, the gazebo is screened. With a ceiling fan and an electrical outlet so that it can double as WiFi hotspot and place to write.
